I love running Glastonbury Radio, not least because of some of the perks that come with the job!
This past weekend I have been lucky enough to be invited to two great live gigs to record two excellent bands for broadcast on Glastonbury Radio.
On Friday night I recorded SEIZE THE DAY who were brilliant. They played at Tor Leisure Centre in aid of the Caroline Barry eco-house rebuild appeal.
Saturday night I recorded BLACKHEART in concert at the Rondo Theatre in Bath, and again witnessed a fantastic live set.
Now these bands may not be household names to you yet, but then neither were Mika, Tom Baxter or Richard Hawley when WE started playing them, but then the bigger stations realise this talent and away they go! So we are hoping these two great bands get the exposure they deserve this coming year.
Last year I recorded gigs by the legendary STRAWBS and GORDON GILTRAP for broadcast, so it's not only new bands we cover! We also did a live broadcast of all the bands from the main stage of last year's Sunsrise Celebration, a four day festival in Sth Somerset!
I love my job!
