Who wants to help convert a book into a screenplay?

Some time back, I started work on a fictional book (based on many actual events) about life on the inside of the music industry. It covers the day to day corruption, sex, drugs and rock'n'roll of an industry that from the outside appears "glamorous", and follows the life of a naive youngster who enters a record label job as an A & R man, at the age of 16. Having spent many years in the business myself, a lot of my writing here is based on people I knew.

What I have written so far was recently reviewed by a friend who is a very successful writer, and she suggested it would probably work better as a screenplay, so now I am looking for someone with skills in adapting a book into a screenplay format.

The book is tentatively called "It's Only Rock'n'Roll and I hate It".

The book is filled with humour, but also twists, turns and eventual sadness as we follow the young A & R executive from bright eyed youngster, to corrupt "star-maker"!

So if you are up for working on the project, drop me a line and we'll have a chat!

Publisher requests book on Now THAT'S Weird!
[info]nomadrush
I have been asked to write a book about my radio show Now THAT'S Weird, documenting the words of the guests since I started broadcasting the programme in September 2005.

This could be really interesting, hearing the predictions that have been made, some of which did come to be and others that didn't.  But perhaps the biggest story of all, would be the CHANGE in people's thinking on "all things strange" over the past four years. There certainly seem to be far less cynics and sceptics than there were at the start!

The publisher is quite excited at the idea of this book, but the research that I will need to do means that it may take some time to get to the shelves! It means that Penny and I will need to go through hundreds of old shows and listen, document and comment on all the interviews which is a very big job! Let's face it, three guests a week - around 49 weeks of the year (Id o have occasional Friday's off lol!) and we are now in the FOURTH year of broadcastng the show!

This is the sort of book that needs a big advance (fat chance lol!) so that Penny and I can take some time off work and go away and write it somewhere quiet!
