The ATS forums

Hi all

It is with regret that Now THAT'S Weird's official forum has LEFT the ATS site. The new official forum will be on our website at http://www.nowthatsweird.co.uk.

I have had a few things to say about ATS of late in respect of over-moderation, deleted posts, too many deleted "off topic posts" and even a very rude U2U from one of their directors "Crackeur". I was also becoming disillusioned at their constant "over publicising" of the fact that pop star Robbie Williams was a poster on the site!

I posted this in the ATS forums but as expected it was removed minutes after posting lol!

This was the U2U received from them this morning:-

"Unfortunately for your efforts, we find ourselves in a position where our brand representatives (William Morris, NYC) have negotiated an agreement with an entity that will require ATS brand exclusivity with an international entertainment production company. We need to gracefully curtail your involvement in all things ATS within the next 15 days."

Once again corporate matters and income overtake the seeking of the truth - we've seen it all before on forums that grow so big. Unfortunately everyone has their price.

I have enjoyed my time on ATS, and when I joined it, it was a great forum, unfortunately as I leave it I believe it is not.

The way they attached themselves to Robbie Williams when he joined their forums was at first a bit sad, but now I see why - having struck a deal with the "William Morris Agency" since his involvement!!

I have given a lot of free publicity to ATS over the years on my radio show and now on my TV show and am upset at the awful way I have been treated of late.

Since publishing this blog on MySpace yesterday, I have now been BANNED from posting on ATS altogether because I dared to put a thread up discussing the over-moderation on ATS. What are they afraid of? Here is their U2U to me:-

This is an automated u2u message. A member of the forum staff, Skyfloating, has applied a posting ban because of your activity on the thread titled,ATS over-moderation (click to review). Your status as a member of ATS is being reviewed by our staff. In the mean time, please review these threads:

They may help you understand the reaons for the action taken by our staff.

Until we consider the issues under which your temporary ban has been applied, you will be unable to post new threads or post responses. Please do not attempt to circumvent the system by creating a new account. Your access to ATS will be permanently denied if you attempt to do this.

Says it all really doesn't it? lol
