Some of you may think that being a Director of a company is a great job! Well paid, powerful, engaging, well think again lol!
I don't draw a salary as the company is still not big enough to allow me to do so, and as for power - well as soon as something goes wrong it's the Directors that get the blame lol! We are answerable to the shareholders and I hold NO shares myself!
In the two years that Glastonbury Radio has been running, I have had to sack three people and each one of them I believe has conducted a hate or smear campaign behind my back due to nothing but sour grapes because THEY f**ked up! I don't sack people because they are doing a great job!! What's more, it causes me great anguish to "sack" someone who works as a volunteer without wages and freely gives their time, so they have to do something really bad for me to take such drastic action.
Many of you know about one particular incident, which then led to graffiti on the walls of the High Street, funeral packs and other junk mail being sent to my home and a whispering campaign around the town! That was because of such a sacking!
It's not an easy job heading up a company like this, as our new MD is now finding out, and people ask me why I stood down as MD and I wouldn't want that job again believe me lol!!!
However, most sackings are dealt with internally, so the public at large only ever get to hear one side of the story, that of the "poor soul who has been unfairly dismissed" - yeah right! But instead of coming to me and asking what really happened, they believe me to be some kind of Fuhrer lol! Whereas those who REALLY know me, know I am a real softy with a very kind heart.
So if you hear gossip on the streets this week, stop and ask yourself - WHY are they saying such things, what is their agenda, what did they do that was so bad to get them sacked from the station? There are always TWO sides to every story.
